Suzana Sousa, born in Luanda in 1981. Phd candidate at the ISCTE-Universitary Institut of Lisbon in the Anthropology department with a research provisionally designated ‘The nationalization of art in Angola: political contexts of the construction of Angolan art.’.
Independent curator and writer. Recently I co-curated Luuanda with Paula Nascimento at Hangar, Lisbon; Imbanba ya Muhatu – Coisas de mulher, with artists Keyezua e Wura Natacha-Ogunji, at CCP in Luanda; Seeds of Memory for the Angolan Pavillion at Expo Milano 2015 and Love me Love me Not, Art from the Collection Sindika Dokolo at the Biblioteca Almeida Garreth in Porto, Portugal. I have published at C&; Art+Auctions (NY); Goethe Institute Magazine and Arterial Network/ Arts in Africa. I am currently developing the cultural collective ‘Pés Descalços’ with a group of Angolan independent minds.
