After Berlin and Peking, "De quoi rêve Dakar?" is the third installment of a long-term project about collective imaginaries which started in 2015. In Dakar, this research residency constitutes of collecting dreams and researching the place of dreams in Senegalese cultures and divination practices.

This residency project is part of a long-term research project, titled Rêves, which started in 2015 and focuses on collecting dreams as a way to explore the way a territory - and its political, social and cultural realities - affects its inhabitants. Referencing psychoanalysis and oneiromancy, "De quoi rêve Dakar" aims to create an oral history of the city, connecting Dakar to the unconscious of its inhabitants.

About Vincent Chomaz
Vincent Chomaz is a Berlin-based interdisciplinary artist and independent curator. Perhaps influenced by his studies at Parisian universities, his artistic practice ties together history, ction, and language to explore elements of the collective and individual unconscious. His work makes use of sound and text as media for social and political commentary, tale telling, and immersive experiences. Over the years, he has worked around the world in and out of various galleries and institutions with a predilection for interventions in public spaces.
