Sandrine Honliasso

Sandrine Honliasso started her graduate studies in Humanities and Social Sciences at Université Lumière Lyon 2. During a two-year stay in Quebec, she graduated with a Certificate in Cultural Administration from Bishop's University and worked as an exhibition assistant at the Foreman Art Gallery. She curated the solo show Marissa Largo, Tinikling Lesson while she was vice-president of the Caribbean and African Student Association (CASA). She holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences focusing on cultural management from the Université de Nantes. She worked as a communication manager at the Institut d’art contemporain / Villeurbanne and as the project coordinator for the nomadic contemporary art fair The Maverick Expo. She is the author of "Les Monologues", a digital space dedicated to young and emerging contemporary art practices. In 2017, she took up the Master's degree "L’art contemporain et son exposition" (Contemporary art and its exhibition) at the Sorbonne Université, during which she co-curated the exhibition "Partout, mais pas pour très longtemps" (Everywhere, but not for very long). That same year she worked as production assistant at Kadist Art Foundation (Paris). In 2018, she participated in Session 5 ‘Germination’ of RAW Academie directed by artist Otobong Nkanga. As a young curator and critic, Sandrine Honliasso is interested in artistic practices that shake our experience and understanding of the world and in their social, political or cultural implications.
