As part of session 6 of the RAW Académie CURA, RAW Material Company invites you to a public lecture with Ruth Noack: "Sleeping with a Vengeance, Dreaming of a life" Monday March 25th, 2019 at 6:00.
Based on a series of exhibitions around contemporary politics of sleep, this conference interrogates the possibity of reconfiguring curation, like sleep and dream, as a radical and subjective activity.
About Ruth Noack
Ruth Noack, author, art critic, university lecturer and exhibition maker since the 1990s, trained as a visual artist and art historian. She lives in Berlin.
Noack was curator of documenta 12 (2007) and is currently developing a new institution, A Museum In A School, to open in 2020. Exhibitions include Scenes of a Theory (1995), Things We Don’t Understand (2000), The Government (2005) (with Roger M.Buergel), a solo show of Ines Doujak’s work (2012), and Notes on Crisis, Currency and Consumption (2015). In 2018, Noack presented the ongoing series Sleeping with a Vengeance, Dreaming of a Life in Athens, Prague and Beijing. She is currently doing research for her next exhibition, Ghosting the Nation.
