RAW Material Company is pleased to invite you to our first event of the year 2020: a presentation of the work of photographer Ibrahima Thiam, on Friday January 17th, 2020 at 6pm.

Ibrahima Thiam will share with us his perspectives on visual arts, photography and the cultural traditions of Saint-Louis, through his different projects. The artist will be in conversation with the art critic Massamba Mbaye.

About Ibrahima THIAM

Born in 1976 in Saint-Louis of Senegal, he first studied economics. He turned to visual arts after a photography workshop organized by the Goether-Institut during the Month of Photo in Dakar in 2009. He uses photography as a narrative support and a tool for representation. His work centers around memory, archives, African oral traditions and imaginaries. He has shown his work in many group shows locally and internationally. He lives and works between Saint-Louis and Dakar.
