Vanina Kape

Born on June 22, 1999 in Yaoundé, Vanina KAPE is an art history student in the Department of Arts and Archaeology at the University of Yaoundé 1 (UY1). She lives and studies in Yaoundé-Cameroon. Her encounter with art came in 2012 when she entered the Mbalmayo Art Training Institute. After obtaining her AF2 baccalaureate (painting option), she enrolled at UY1, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in plastic art and art history in 2018, before continuing to the present day with her research master's degree in art history.

Vanina is passionate about the visual arts and all activities that contribute to the promotion and mediation of this discipline. She is interested in curatorial practice and the organization and management of artistic and cultural projects. She nourishes her passion by working alongside elders and professionals such as Patrick Ngouana, Yves Ndounda, Jean-Jacques Kanté, Salifou Lindou and many others. Since 2018, she has collaborated with several artists to organize or curate their solo or group exhibitions (curator of Dans une peau nouvelle by Leuna Noumbimboo, New Spirit exhibition 1 and 2 as a member of the New Spirit collective, assistant curator of Aquarihomme by Arnold Fokam prize Goethe découverte 2019 etc) and is one of the contributors to the monograph by visual artist Salifou Lindou Fovanta published in 2022.

Alongside her studies, she is now assistant to the artistic director of Art-Keo Association and head of communications at Ayibeka-Home, where she continues to broaden her experience.
