Tabara Korka is a young Senegalese woman born in 1995. She lives in Dakar and is a graduate of the ISM Group’s Madiba Institute in Political Science and International Relations. Highly committed to various causes, she is a scout member of the Boys and Girls Scouts Association of Senegal. This led her to develop from a young age a keen interest in issues related to youth involvement in decision-making and environmental protection and preservation, and it is thus that she represented Senegal in Berlin at the G7 Youth Summit upon invitation by the German Chancellor in May 2015 and August 2016. In her final year at university, she wrote a dissertation on the relationship between hip hop and civic commitment in Senegal. She plans on furthering her research on political hip hop and hip hop and politics. As someone extremely interested in politics, she seeks to understand the various mechanisms that can help to promote greater political awareness amongst young people. She lives and works in Dakar.
