Mamadou Jean-Charles Tall is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Marseille (ENSAM). He has served as president of the board of the Collège Universitaire d’Architecture de Dakar, an institution he co-founded with his partners Naby Kane and Annie Jouga: where he teaches and is director of the Masters of Architecture programme. He has taught at the University of Dakar’s Institut Supérieur des Arts et de la Culture (ISAC) and at the School of Architecture in Lomé (EAMAU). He has also mentored several students of the Laboratoire d’Energétique Appliquée at the École Supérieure Polytechnique de Dakar during their post-graduate studies.
He is the co-director of J&T Architectes et Associés, an architectural firm he runs in Dakar with Annie Jouga. Tall has served as a member of the scientific committee of the Dak’Art Biennale of Contemporary African Art, and has also been involved with the doual’art cultural organization and their Triennale (SUD). An active member of the Comité Supérieur des Monuments Historiques du Sénégal, he has been the President of the Ordre des Architectes du Sénégal for five years. Mr. Tall is also a prominent activist for citizens’ rights, and has participated in Senegal's recent political evolution as a prominent member of the June 23rd Movement, which fought to protect the country's constitution.
