Born in Yaoundé on May 16, 1996, Ekoa Mbarga Vanessa is an art enthusiast. At a very young age, she began to develop a passion for artistic expression and turned to drawing. Thus, after obtaining her first-cycle diploma, she decided, with the support of her family, to continue her studies at the Mbalmayo art training institute in 2012. During her studies, she tried her hand at several mediums, eventually settling on ceramics, which was to become her preferred material. After obtaining her Baccalauréat AF1 in ceramics, she enrolled at the University of Yaoundé1 in 2015, where she completed her undergraduate studies in 2020 with a degree in visual arts and art history. However, as she became more interested in the theoretical framework underpinning these different artistic practices, she decided to pursue a Master's degree (research) in art history and museology.
In parallel with her studies, she has taken part in a number of curatorial projects, working as a curatorial assistant. In addition, with a view to broadening her professional experience, she takes part in further training courses, particularly in cultural mediation, with cultural institutes and/or professionals in the field.
