RAW Material Company is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition MUṬIKKAPPAṬĀTA by artist Nathalie Vairac, which will be presented during the 13th edition of #Partcours and as part of the OFF of the 15th Dak'Art Biennale, on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 6 pm at RAW Material Company.

Performance begins at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Please arrive by 7:15 pm to ensure your seating. The back- yard doors will close as soon as the performance begins. 

With the MUṬIKKAPPAṬĀTA project, the actress Nathalie Vairac, embarks on a long journey that questions the immateriality of transmission through the story of a little girl born in Bordeaux to an Indian mother and a Guadeloupean father. She questions the way in which visible and invisible memories have crossed time and oceans, transcending violence to transmit the breath of life from soul to soul.

This research delves into the reality of multiple heritages: with fragments of intimacy and personal stories, Nathalie Vairac reconstructs the path of our collective identity. She uses dreams and the symbolism of their archetypes to return to that part of the night that teaches us. 

 Nathalie Vairac's practice explores the territories of the unfinished and the places of humanity that can be re-imagined. She questions the other ways of bearing a heritage, and the possibility of using scars as a source of new life.
