Sensitive to contemporary art, especially on the African continent, Virginie Echene discovers the field of contemporary African art as a half-year-intern in André Magnin’s Parisian office. She got closer to contemporary african art by working with Barthélemy Toguo, a well-know artist working both in Europe and Africa.
Graduated in Fine Arts (University Paris VIII, France), Raw Material Company offers her the opportunity to gain a rich experience in curatorship, in Dakar, a city with a great cultural effervescence. During her residency, Virginie will benefit from Koyo Kouoh’s valuable advice for her Master degree project in International artistic cooperation.
